The DAAD’s PROMOS programme

The DAAD’s PROMOS programme

A DAAD programme to promote the mobility of students at German universities

As part of the DAAD’s PROMOS programme, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar awards grants for stays abroad lasting up to 6 months. The grants are intended for students whose project abroad is not eligible for any other type of funding (e.g. ERASMUS or another DAAD programme).

The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar awards the following PROMOS grants:

  • PROMOS grants for studies abroad
Support is available for study stays abroad lasting at least 1 month and a maximum of 6 months.
Unfortunately, tuition fees cannot be covered. Semester grants are only possible within Europe when there is no ERASMUS cooperation with the corresponding department at the host university.
  • PROMOS grants for internships abroad
Student internships abroad are eligible for funding if they last between 6 weeks and 6 months. This does not apply to internships eligible for funding through other DAAD grant programmes. Due to overlaps with the ERASMUS+ internship programme, internships in the ERASMUS region cannot be funded.

Application requirements

Students enrolled at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar with the aim of achieving the corresponding degree are able to apply (excluding exchange students). Non-German students are not eligible for funding for a stay in their home country.
