The European Union funds study-related and practical internships in Europe within its Erasmus programme. Funding is available for both self-organised internships as well as for internships at subject-relevant companies.
The LEONARDO Office Thuringia based at the TU Ilmenau is responsible for managing the programme for the universities in Thuringia.

Selection procedure
Selection is based on the application documents you submit. You will need to state in your application your motivation for wishing to complete an internship abroad and the expected impact on your future studies or entry into professional life. The letter of recommendation from your faculty moreover qualifies you for selection for Erasmus+ funding for your planned internship.
When you meet the prerequisites for funding, the Learning Agreement is prepared and finalised.
Depending on the working language during the internship, an OLS language test and possibly also an OLS language course may be required (available online, free of charge).
The funding agreement for your internship will then be prepared so that the first payment can be made shortly after all of the documents have been submitted (and, where applicable, the language test completed).
