Click here to apply at the »Portal for studying abroad«
You can find »Instructions for using the portal for studying abroad « in the Downloadcenter of the International Office.
For data protection reasons, we ask you to log in to the portal with your university email address.
The decision whether your first or second preference stated in the initial application can be taken into account is up to the responsible supervisory professor of your faculty (information on who this is can be found in the tender).
You will be informed about the decision via Email.
If neither your first nor second preference of your initial application has been considered you have the opportunity to apply again for an exchange place in the second application round using the form »Update my first application for studying abroad« (check below for more detailed explanations).
After the supervising professors have completed the selection process of the faculties, you will receive an email with the information as to whether you have received one of your preferred places.
ATTENTION: You have to confirm the offer for your exchange place within 3 days. Otherwise your entitlement for the place will be forfeited. |
---|
An exchange of exchange places is not permitted.
The International Office offers information events on how to organize your studies abroad. The exact dates of these events will be communicated via the online pinboard International.
The second application round is aimed at the following students:
1) During the first application round, neither your first nor your second preference was approved.
2) You missed the application period for the initial application round.
Regarding 1) You have the opportunity to reapply in the second application round via the Portal for studying abroad using the form »Update my first application for studying abroad«.
Regarding 2) You have the opportunity to apply again in the second application round via the Portal for studying abroad using the form "My first application for studying abroad".
The procedure for the selection process is the same as for the initial application round.
The activation of the second round of applications takes place about 8 weeks after the end of the initial round of applications. |
---|
After you have accepted your exchange place via the »Portal for your studies abroad«, you will be nominated by the International Office of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar at the partner university, i.e. you will be proposed to the partner university as an exchange student.
Usually you will receive a notification of the partner university's decision to accept or reject your nomination by email.
Please note that the nomination process may take some time due to the nomination periods specified by the partner University.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE NOMINATION
Following a successful nomination, you must apply to the partner university independently from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
REJECTION OF NOMINATION
In rare cases the nomination of students (especially in artistic and design courses) is rejected by the partner university. There are mostly three reasons for this:
1. The capacity in workshops or in projects is exhausted.
2. From the submitted portfolio it is concluded that no adequate courses or specialist supervision can be secured.
3. The partner university terminates the ERASMUS contract with the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar during an ongoing procedure.
In such cases, please contact outgoing[at]uni-weimar.de immediately.
After the nomination has been accepted, please apply at your partner university independently from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
Be sure to note the individual application deadlines of the partner university! |
---|
Even if the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar has nominated you, you are responsible for making contact with your future host university in due time. Please research the application modalities and dates on the partner university's website.
After your application has been evaluated by the partner university, you will usually be informed of the decision by email.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE APPLICATION
If your application is successful, you will receive a confirmation from the partner university (usually by e-mail in the form of a "Letter of Acceptance") and you will be informed about the next steps.
APPLICATION REJECTION
If you receive a rejection, please contact the International Office room 111 & 112 during office hours or via outgoing[at]uni-weimar.de.
