BIP Information for Lecturers

Dear lecturers of Bauhaus-Universität,

Thank you for your interest in designing a BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) or participating in a BIP at one of our ERASMUS partner universities!

On the following pages we have compiled important information that will help you with planning and organisations.

Please come to the International Office for an individual consultation!

First things first ... outgoing or incoming?

OUTGOING BIP
In an outgoing BIP, the BIP takes place at an ERASMUS partner university. Teachers and students of the Bauhaus University can be supported with an ERASMUS grant for the participation in such a BIP. You can find the eligibility requirements below. Enquiries about funding opportunities can be sent to:

INCOMING BIP
In the case of an incoming BIP, the BIP will take place during the Spring School at the Bauhaus-Univeristät. Lecturers at Bauhaus-Universität are invited to apply with a teaching concept to the Bauhaus Spring School:

Scenarios for Outgoing BIP

SCENARIO 1

Lecturers of Bauhaus-Universität participate as teaching staff in a BIP at a partner university.

In this case, your mobility can be funded as a regular "Staff Mobility for Teaching (STA)" through the ERASMUS programme. Please contact the International Office for advice on the application process.

SCENARIO 2

Lecturers of Bauhaus-Universität participate in a BIP together with their students.

Also in this case, your mobility can be funded as a regular "Staff Mobility for Teaching (STA)" through the ERASMUS programme. Students can receive ERASMUS funding for a "short-term blended mobility".

Whether sufficient ERASMUS funds are available to support all participating teachers and students must be checked in advance by the International Office. Please contact us for further information.

BIP General Conditions

duration of presence phase:	min. 5 bis max. 30 days
number of funded days:	max. 7
duration of virtual phase:	no defined specifications
time of virtual phase:	before, parallel or/and after the presence phase
Participating universities:	min. 3 ERASMUS partner universities of the Bauhaus-Universität from min. 3 different ERASMUS programme countries
Workload:	min. 3 ECTS
Number of fundable staff:	max. 2 STA (= mobility for teaching)
Number of fundable students:	~20 (depending on the funding available)

Under the following conditions, lecturers (with or without their students) can participate in a BIP:

The host university of the BIP must be an ERASMUS partner university of the Bauhaus Universität (please contact the International Office for more information, an overview of our partner universities can be found in our "Search Portal for Study Abroad")
The ERASMUS partner university must have declared the course as a BIP
there must be at least 1 virtual phase and at least 1 attendance phase
Lecturers do not necessarily have to have an employment contract with the Bauhaus-Universität to be eligible for funding
Lecturers must submit all compulsory documents mentioned on the info page for Staff Mobility
Lecturers, together with the International Office, support students in the preparation and procurement of documents (e.g. Learning Agreement or Transcript of Records)
Students must be enrolled at Bauhaus-Universität
Students must submit all the compulsory documents listed on the BIP information page for students Together with the International Office, teachers support students in the preparation of ERASMUS documents (e.g. preparation of "Learning Agreement", "Transcript of Records", "Letter of Recognition")
the minimum number of 3 ECTS points for participation in the BIP course must be recognised for students for their course of study. Therefore, please contact your examination office at an early stage to discuss the possibility of recognition
