INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE BAUHAUS IDEA WORKSHOP

Occasion

The Bauhaus Anniversary 2019. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar invites all of its members and affiliates to participate in an Idea Workshop, which should reflect the Bauhaus‘ heritage of ideas using the current self-image of the university located upon this historical founding site.

Format

Any project format is suitable that is capable of generating the appropriate level of publicity for this discourse and productivity for the future. International and interdisciplinary are key characteristics of a contemporary university, i.e. research-based teaching, projects that address socially relevant issues.

Background

When the Bauhaus was founded in Weimar, a modern experiment began at a design university with global influence. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar continues to take on this historical role as a catalyst for creativity and a location that welcomes experimentation, which is expressed through the thematically oriented university with global networking. As the successor institution, located at the founding site, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will also play the role of the hostess in 2019.

Outline

The outline should include the project format, the project initiators and mentors, participants and external partners, goals and relevance, planned duration and estimated costs, as well as proposals for potential funding sources and implementation. Any potential networking with further cooperation partners should be made apparent.

Certification

The Senate Working Commission Bauhaus100 will certify projects as official Bauhaus Anniversary projects.

Implementation

The implementation will occur gradually through a qualification process by the Senate Working Commission Bauhaus100 as part of a financial concept still to be developed by the university. Proposals for potential cooperation partners are welcomed.

Submissions must be received by 31 October 2015. Submissions should be submitted as a PDF and should not exceed two pages. Submissions can be made either in German or English. All assessments and decisions will occur in coordination with the Senate Working Commission Bauhaus100 in November 2015.
