The contents of this page are constantly updated. We therefore ask you to inform yourself on the faculty page as well as on the general Corona information page of the university.
If you have any questions or uncertainties, please do not hesitate to contact us. Please contact the student advisors of your respective faculty or the student office of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
Stay healthy and protect yourself and others!
These labs can only be used in individual cases (e.g. for final theses to be completed). Please coordinate this with the supervisors of the labs.
The secretariats and the staff in the dean's office and in the study and examination offices can only be reached by telephone and e-mail. Please note that the employees are on vacation between the holidays and there may be delays in processing your requests.
In order to provide the greatest possible protection against infection for all university employees, the most important instructions for behavior in the buildings and on campus have been compiled based on the university's framework hygiene plan. This includes, among other things, a general obligation to wear a mouth-nose covering in public areas of the buildings. Please read instructions carefully and follow the recommendations and rules - this is the only way we will manage a semester of attendance during the Corona pandemic.
» To the notes on pandemic-appropriate behavior on campus.
Due to the prescribed measures for contact tracing, we have to collect your data within the framework of the courses conducted in presence - for the time being still in writing and in paper form and in perspective by means of electronic Thoska registration. The data will be kept under lock and key in an envelope for four weeks and will only be opened in case of infection in order to be able to trace the chain of infection. Afterwards, the data will be destroyed.
We kindly ask for your understanding!
From now on you can access all information about the courses of the Faculty of Media online in the BISON. Please also note the information on the form of event (in attendance/digital).

Dear graduates of the Faculty of Media,
Congratulations! You have made it! You have successfully completed your studies at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. You have worked hard and have shown both perseverance and commitment. You have acquired comprehensive specialist knowledge, having studied alone and in teams. You have planned, pursued and implemented your own projects in keeping with the Bauhaus tradition. You have passed your final exams and are now a graduate of the Faculty of Media at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. On behalf of the entire Faculty, I congratulate you on this achievement.
This degree is something very special; you have graduated from a unique university, one which is not only characterized by the joy of experimentation and its practical application, offering scope both for basic research and for the study of art and architecture, but one which can also can look back on a history which has its roots in the State Bauhaus in Weimar and has continued to this day to be a decisive stimulus for the contemporary design all over the world.
However, the circumstances in which you have completed your studies have also been special. The Corona crisis has brought about massive restrictions in public and private life, and this has inevitably included in the operation of our university. You have not allowed yourself to be distracted by this and have managed to stay focused on your degree. For this you deserve additional recognition and additional respect!
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it was not possible to hold the graduation ceremony in its usual form in 2020. This a matter of great regret to us as we would have liked to have taken the opportunity to say goodbye to you formally and in person. If circumstances permit, we would be happy to meet up with you next year at summaery2021 and in some way compensate for the cancellation of the celebrations in July.
Until then, we wish you all the best and much success.
With best regards,
Henning Schmidgen
Dean of the Faculty of Media
