Bauhausinteraction Colloquium: »Affordances of Paper, Public Administration, and Toolkits - Some Anecdotes« von Raphael Wimmer
Raphael Wimmer is a lecturer at the University of Regensburg where he is currently establishing the junior research group "Physical Affordances for Digital Media and Workflows”: hci.ur.de. His research revolves around technical, ergonomic, and organizational aspects of HCI. A major focus will be on workflows in public administration - an area with high demand for digitalisation but little supporting research.
The ongoing process of digitalisation changes how users interact with information and media, how organizations handle document workflows, and how people notice and discover information.
This change uniquely affects public administration, who have developed a wealth of practices for efficiently working with physical paper.
The talk will focus on three issues:
- Why and how should we combine the affordances of physical and digital documents?
- How is user research in and for public administration different than for other stakeholders?
- Why do we need to build our own research hardware and software - and how can we improve availability and longevity of these?
Der Vortrag findet im Rahmen des Bauhausinteraction Colloquium statt.
