Jun.-Prof. Dr. Jan Ehlers

Head of the Usability Research Group

Dr. Jan Ehlers was appointed to the assistant professorship »Usability« on 1st of August 2019. He holds a PhD in Psychology and worked in several research groups at the University of Bremen and Ulm University on human-machine interaction and brain computer interfaces. His work focuses psychophysiological interaction research with emphasis on cognitive control of implicit dynamics.

  • Since 2019 Assistant professor and head of the Usability department at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar
  • 2018 – 2019 Guest researcher to represent the assistant professorship »Usability« at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar
  • 2017 - 2019 Lecturer at Hochschule für Kommunikation und Gestaltung (HfK+G) (Ulm)
  • 2017 Lead investigator in the SFB-project/Transregio 62 (Eine Companion-Technologie für kognitiv-technische Systeme) at Ulm University
  • 2013 – 2017 Research assistant in the department of General Psychology at Ulm University. Lead investigator in the BMBF-project ASSIST (Blick- und gestenbasierte Assistenzsysteme für Nutzer mit Bewegungseinschränkungen).
  • 2008 – 2015 Lecturer at Faculty 11 (Health Sciences and Nursing Science) at the Univerisity of Bremen
  • 2009 – 2011 Research assistant at the Institute of Automation (IAT) at the University of Bremen. Work package leader in the EU-project BRAIN (BCIs with Rapid Automated Interfaces for Non-experts)
