The message boards (Pinnwände) can be used free of charge by members of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar for exchanging information easily and quickly. As the message boards are part of the website managed by the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, they are also subject to the same conditions of usage which apply to the IT infrastructure of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. When using the IT infrastructure – including the message boards – the user must comply with the terms put forth in the regulations.
We especially remind our users to comply with §5 – User responsibilities, no. 4:
[...] It is not permitted to use the message boards for criminal, terrorist, racist, discriminatory, libelous or pornographic purposes, or to post material containing propaganda for unconstitutional organisations or in any way violate the law.
Political (party oriented) messages of any kind as well as any posts that could impede the proper functioning of the university (or any part of the university) will not be published.
The user is responsible for the content of messages he or she posts online. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is not liable for content posted on the message boards by individual users. The university cannot monitor the activity on the message boards at all times. However, if it discovers any message with content that violates the regulations or penal code, the university will delete it.
Messages can only be deleted manually by the system administrators. Once they are posted, they cannot be changed or deleted unless absolutely necessary. Typos, errors in content or outdated information are not reason enough to manually change or delete messages! If your message contains errors, we suggest posting a new message which corrects the information contained in the previous message.
The University Communication (UK) department of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is responsible for the templates, messages and message lists – but not for the content of the messages. The Service Centre for Computer Systems and Communication (SCC) of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is responsible for the technical infrastructure (operating and maintaining the server and network).
Under the menu heading »Alle Kategorien« (all categories), you will find the latest messages posted on all the message boards (with the exception of »Piazza« and »Wohnen« (Accommodation)). Because all messages are compiled into one list, we kindly ask you not to post the same message on different boards. We ask that you only post faculty-specific information on the individual faculty message boards. The »University« category is reserved for inter-faculty news from the university. The »Piazza« and »Wohnen« boards are reserved for personal messages. The system administrators are permitted to release, block and delete messages at their discretion. Any complaints regarding these actions may be appealed to the President.
If you would like to post a message as a guest (i.e. you don’t have a registered login/name at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar), simply enter your own name in the field »Login/Name« and click the box »I do not have a login name at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar«. Your message will then be reviewed by a system administrator. If it is approved, it will be posted on the desired message board. This procedure can take several workdays. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is in no way required to publish your post and reserves the right to deny the publication of any post without having to provide reasons for this decision. Registered users with a login/name can post their messages on the boards immediately.
Notice regarding comment publication
Comments must first be reviewed before publication. If the comment is identified as spam, it will be deleted. Comment review can take several days and does not occur on weekends or holidays. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is currently developing an automated system that allows users with a university login to publish comments without an activation process.
It is not permitted to use the message boards for commercial or business-related purposes.
When the publication period expires, all messages and comments are stored in an archive for approx. one year, after which they are automatically deleted. If no search word is entered into the archive search engine, all the messages from the selected message board will be displayed.
The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar permits users to view the titles of posted messages in an RSS feed on external websites. The feeds include links to the respective pages on our website. It is strictly prohibited to publicise user names on external websites. You can learn more about RSS feeds from Wikipedia. If you wish to subscribe to a feed, you will require an RSS reader. To subscribe to a certain message board, please use the respective URL below.
Please note: Because RSS feeds include offers from outside users, the titles of the message board entries are visible on external websites.
