On 2 December 2019, ZEIT CAMPUS ONLINE published the latest university ranking prepared by the Centre for Higher Education (CHE) based on its survey of students at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. The outcome? Not only the Faculty of Civil Engineering’s Bachelor’s degrees ranked highly. The Master’s degrees in »civil engineering« and »environmental engineering« also received excellent reviews.
How do Master’s students rate the courses offered at your university? How do they rate the overall quality of study organisation? And what support do students receive to prepare for a semester abroad? In the latest survey, ZEIT CAMPUS conducted a national comparison of up to 15 different criteria for Master’s programmes. In addition to the assessments of the students surveyed between April and August 2019 and the international orientation, the transition to the Master’s programme as well as the research situation were also among the aspects considered.
At the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, students pursuing a Master’s degree in »environmental engineering« rated the »support for studies abroad« particularly highly. Criteria such as the proportion of international students, foreign language courses or joint study programmes with foreign higher education institutions are summarised in the »International orientation – Master’s« category. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar features in the top group for these aspects. Weimar students also rated the »overall study situation« and »courses offered« by the university’s departments of »civil engineering« and »environmental engineering« as above average in the 2019 CHE Master’s ranking.
The consistently excellent reviews of the Bachelor’s programmes in engineering at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar already delighted in May 2019: most of the courses offered by the Faculty of Civil Engineering were rated highly (overall study situation, study organisation, graduation in appropriate time, Bachelor’s degree/Staatsexamen (state examination)/Diplom, study support, fresher support, teacher support, examinations, excursions, IT infrastructure, international orientation, support for studies abroad).
