The aim of SCHOOL is to shape traffic in congested areas in an environmental friendly and efficient way by using interconnected technologies. For that to happen, new traffic management strategies across all modes of transport are developed and implemented prototypically. For the first time, non-monetary approaches of “Gamification” and “Incentivation” shall be integrated to motivate the traffic participant to an environmental friendly traffic behaviour.
The project SCHOOL also strengthens the role of the mobility data market place (MDM) by the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) as a central point of access for the data of public administration, which can be used by third parties and enhanced to new services and applications.
The developed solutions are implemented prototypically and evaluated in the towns of Dortmund, Frankfurt on the Main and Kassel as well as in the Rhine-Main area. SCHOOL is a joint project funded by the BMVI with a duration until October 2020.
