Sommer semester excursions

The Institute of Structural Engineering (IKI) offers a 3-day excursion during the summer semester 2022 for students of Faculty B. The excursion topics are "Major projects of structural engineering in NRW" from 08.06.-10.06.22 and "Excursion day on timber construction/masonry construction" on 07.06.22.

From 07.06.-10.06.22 the excursion week of the Faculty of Civil Engineering takes place, in which also the Institute of Structural Engineering (IKI) offers excursions.

During the 3-days excursion "Major projects of structural engineering in NRW" (08.06. - 10.06.2022) various construction sites and projects in NRW will be visited. The program includes, for example, the new construction of the Rhine bridge in Leverkusen, the Federal Highway Research Institute, a bridge construction site for the U81 light rail line in Düsseldorf, the construction site of a multi-storey solid construction and the BVB stadium in Dortmund.

In addition, the "excursion day about timber construction/masonry construction" (07.06.) will take place. The visit include factories and sites in the East Thuringia region (Wienerberger GmbH, STRAB Ingenieurholzbau Hermsdorf GmbH, Drachenschwanzbrücke in Ronneburg, Forstamt Jena-Holzland in Stadtroda). The number of participants is limited, so prompt registration is strongly recommended.

Further information can be found in the Moodle course of the excursion week. Interested students can also register for the excursions there. The password for the Moodle course will be communicated in the corresponding courses of the professorships. Since the number of participants is limited, we recommend a prompt registration.

Please note: For the excursions you will need your own safety shoes.
