International Conference Participation - Wind Engineering (8 EACWE)

The current research work of the professorship in the field of wind engineering has been published and presented at the 8th European-African Wind Engineering Conference (8 EACWE). Here is an overview of the conference presentations.

During 8th European-African Wind Engineering Conference, held in Bucharest from 20th to 23rd September 2022, the Chair had three representatives for the scientific contribution and on-site presentations:

Dr. Samir Chawdhury - Modelling of ovalling motion of thin circular shells to investigate the aeroelastic coupled interactions of tall chimneys.

M.Sc. Samuel Tesfaye - Numerical investigation of the nonlinear interaction between the sinusoidal motion-induced and gust-induced forces acting on bridge decks.

M.Sc. Victor Vîlceanu - Horizontal acceleration response for wind-sensitive high-rise building equipped with liquid dampers.

Short summary of the conference: 147 contributions (on-site and online presentations), 3 keynote lectures, 12 theme lectures, 1 insurance sponsor talk, and 4 parallel sessions. Special topics and scientific interests were discussed, among the key highlights being extreme climate, resilience and energy.
