Students learn to design, construct, calculate and visualize an engineering structure using computers.

Students learn digital methods for computer-aided planning and computer-aided management of construction projects.

Geometric Modeling and Technical Representations

Teaching the basics of Performing Geometry. On the basis of real building objects, the theoretical foundations of geometric modeling and technical representation are conveyed. An Introduction to Building Information Modeling (BIM) will be given. Finally, the students will model detailed solutions of the project on the computer using a BIM-capable CAD system. In the foreground is the 3D modeling with subsequent drawing creation. The course is teached by the chair of Computing in Civil Engineering, in collaboration with us. Engineering Informatics and Database Systems

The lecturers provide an overview of fundamentals of building computer science as well as object-oriented concepts (especially classes and objects, methods, control structures, exception handling, input / output, data structures, algorithms, etc.), software design, programming in Java, introduction to database systems, logical database design using the relational model, conceptual database design, relational query languages, physical database design, data integration, advanced concepts, exemplary building computer science applications.
