Summary
In this bilateral German-Russian cooperation, the project partners aim at bundling their specific expertise in the development of BIM-oriented systems for construction engineering and facility management. By combining different technical and human conditions and by coupling different research findings achieved by the German and the Russian project partners, it is expected that valuable new knowledge can be achieved in the field of BIM-oriented systems for construction engineering and facility management. The partner in Germany (Bauhaus University Weimar) contributes to the project with latest hardware and software technology, an comprehensive international network as well as considerable transfer competencies between basic and applied research. In this project, Bauhaus University Weimar stands for structural design, construction process managament, and the development of intelligent sensor systems for BIM-based utilization of real-time data. The partner in Russia (Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, MGSU) contributes to the project with an exceptional expertise in the theoretical foundations and IT practice as well as with an excellent IT infrastructure for simulation and control of building parameters. In addition, Russia provides a unique market, in which a number of buildings of the same type have been built in series production; this can be of importance with respect to verification of the new BIM-oriented concepts and methods proposed in this project.
