Jun.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Lars Abrahamczyk

Welcome to the Chair of Advanced Structures at the Bauhaus-University Weimar. Our research and teaching focuses on the system analysis of structures including derivation of suitable partial models, engineering consideration of coupling and interactions, recording and consideration of extreme and changing load conditions as well as avoidance or evaluation of collapse potential using latest technologies (tools of digital engineering). Advanced Structures not only include the structures with high risk potential, lightweight and tent constructions, but also includes the use of damping elements and the interaction phenomena in standard construction methods.

TheSUM - Summaery 2021

The chair of Advanced Structures is participating in summaery 2021 with three interesting projects. These projects deals with specialized topics in the field of climate change and earthquake engineering. Feel free to check them out!

Research Project:

1- Effects of climate change on building and neighborhoods

Special Projects - Master Course NHRE:

2- Equivalent frame models for irregular masonry walls

3- Passive energy dissipation devices in earthquake prone areas
