Jun.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Lars Abrahamczyk

Welcome to the Chair of Advanced Structures!

Our research and teaching focuses on the system analysis of structures including derivation of suitable partial models, engineering consideration of coupling and interactions, recording and consideration of extreme and changing load conditions as well as avoidance or evaluation of collapse potential using latest technologies (tools of digital engineering). Advanced Structures not only include the structures with high risk potential, lightweight and tent constructions, but also includes the use of damping elements and the interaction phenomena in standard construction methods.

Annual Project Showcase »Summaery2020-Remote«

From July 30th to August 2nd, 2020, the Bauhaus University Weimar organized its annual project show "Summaery 2020-Remote" under the direction of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. This year's motto takes up current discourses, works and projects from research and teaching and presents it in a completely new digital format.

The professorship participated with the student projects "Assessment of in-plane behavior of URM infill walls with openings and confining elements" and "Macro-modelling of reinforced concrete load bearing walls in seismic areas & experiences from the field mission in Durrës (Albania)" as well as the current research project "Effects of climate change on buildings and neighborhoods - structural integrity, indoor climate and energy efficiency".

Further information on the contributions of the Chair of Advanced Structures can be found under Teaching and Research.
