Pro Thuringian Engineering Life Cycle

The project ProTELC - Pro Thuringian Engineering Life Cycle supported by the Allianz-ThürING, aims at strengthening the successful study of engineering science in Thuringia, focusing on supporting the students from the moment they decide to go for an academic engineering degree till the incorporation into the working sector.

ProTELC is divided in three phases. The “Phasing-In” serves as an orientation phase with preliminary courses before starting a specialist course, serving as a reinforcement of existing knowledge and incorporation into the engineering sciences.

The second phase “Studying Successfully” intents to motivate students who are already incorporated in an engineering program with refresher courses and Science Camps, the later happening twice per year for Bachelor students and students from Master programs.

The last phase “Phasing-Out” focuses on supporting the students with e-modules for soft skill development and learning modules for the integration in to the job-market. Additional support is to be given for strengthening the network between Industry and the participating Universities.

Smart solutions for sustainable greening

35 students from the seven Allienz-Thüring partner universities are invited to take part in the 5th ProTELC Science Camp "Smart2Green", which is being organized by Erfurt University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. From 11.03. to 20.03.2024, the "GREEN2SMART" Science Camp will teach students how to turn a sustainable element into a smart elements and how to improve the living environment by integrating engineering and computational algorithms (e.g., AI).

The Science Camp program will include:

  • complex tasks that deal with the topic, learning theory and practice
  • academic seminars and guest lectures (possible excursions)
  • Implementation of critical and creative thinking
  • networking
  • a “hands-on” project with interdisciplinary teams
  • Accommodation for students coming from partner institutions (accommodation for FH-Erfurt students upon discussion)

What are the requirements for those who are interested?*

You should be a student in an engineering bachelor’s degree at a Thuringian university**

*Basic programing knowledge is recommended but not mandatory
** Students from architecture programs or areas related to the main topic are also welcome to apply

Where and until when can I register?

You can apply by sending an informal email to protelc[at]fh-erfurt.de. The email should contain:

  • last name, first name
  • proof of enrollment for an engineering bachelor's degree (as well as the name of the bachelor’s degree)
  • a short motivation text, why would you like to participate in the Science Camp?

The registration deadline is on 15.02.2023
