»Bauhaus Underground« - Seismic Station back in the Parkhole from March

With the reopening of the Weimar Parkhole on March 21st, the Bauhaus University Weimar's popular seismograph will also return to its original location. After a two-year renovation phase by the Klassik-Stiftung Weimar, the seismograph at the Earthquake Damage Analysis Center (EDAC) is now open to the public again.

As part of the Science Camp Green2Smart, participants visited the WIR Quartier in Erfurt, an example of the implementation of exterior green facades, which watering (among other parameters) can be controlled via smart phone apps.

Research Project Meeting - iBIMD »Erasmus+«

In part of the EU-funded project, Introduction to Building Information Modelling and Digitalization (iBIMD), the Chair of Advanced Structures hosted the regular half-yearly meeting with project partners from Politehnica University of Timișoara, Romania; Universidade de Coimbra, Portugal; Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Italy; and Danmarks Tekniske Universitet, Denmark.

Graduation Ceremony 2023

On 4 November 2023, the graduates of the Faculty of Civil Engineering were bid farewell with a traditional ceremony in the Audimax of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

eTeach Annual Conference 2023

The professorship participated in the eTeach annual conference 2023 with a poster presentation of the ongoing research project “GeViLAB - Joint virtual laboratory visits for large-scale and special tests”.

ProTELC: Conclusion and impressions of Science Camp »RoboBau 2023«

As part of the ‘Studying Successfully’ phase in the Allianz Thüringer Ingenieurwissenschaften project – ProTELC, the RoboBau 2023 Science Camp for master students in Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences (HSM) in cooperation with the Chair of Advanced Structures at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar finished on 29th of September 2023. The camp provided the participants with a unique combination of theoretical knowledge and practical application.

ProTELC: Science Camp »RoboBau 2023«

On the preceding Thursday, Science Camp RoboBau 2023 commenced its activities at Hochschule Schmalkalden. This event brought together students from four universities in Thuringia, who have converged to take on a distinctive challenge: the creation of a bridge using robotic arms, facilitated by camera technology. This camp, scheduled to run from September 21st to the 29th, will culminate in a final competition set for Friday 29th September 2023.

18. D-A-CH Conference & DGEB Thesis Award

The researchers and doctoral students of the Chair of Advanced Structures presented new results at the 18th D-A-CH conference in Kiel (September 14th to 15th, 2023). The conference is a notable gathering of civil engineers and scientists from the D-A-CH region to promote knowledge exchange, experiences, best practices, innovations and research results in the field of earthquake engineering and structural dynamics.
