Project description

The course “Carpet Weaving as a Drawing Practice” presents a group exhibition featuring 19 handwoven and knotted carpets. These textile artworks were created on Moroccan looms, which the students first built themselves in the wood workshop under the guidance of Andreas Riese.
Weaving has a long tradition at the Bauhaus and is now enriched by the addition of eleven Moroccan looms. These looms allow students to freely create large-scale textile works. The first 19 experts in this technique showcase their individual interpretations of the carpet as an artwork as part of the Winter Exhibition 2025.

The exhibition opens on February 6, 2025, at 6 PM.
