Project description

VERNISSAGE: 5th of February 2025
Last year, the collective worked on the dance performance “Mother, Me, the Other”, which premiered in May 2024 at LOFFT Leipzig.
The performance explored the dynamic relationship between (single) mothers* and their daughters*. Through unconditional love, a sense of responsibility, and loneliness, the performers navigated a world of caring interpersonal connections.
In the performative installation “Mother, Me, the Other II”, the audience’s perspective is challenged to consider society's view of this complex and extensive topic. The work focuses on the role of a (prospective) mother* in light of societal expectations, demands, and stigmatization. Ideals such as a successful career, kindness, strength, care, and the male gaze play a crucial role in this exploration.
