Project description
Within a typeface, type cuts or styles can have a wide variety of attributes. For the most part, they are heavier, lighter, wider, or narrower than the other cuts. Based on an adjective and its comparative, this course will develop a variable typeface that intends to have multiple applications.
The goal is to develop a typeface with two Master that is able to work as variable typeface and can interpolate various intermediate steps. This axis is intended to visually reflect the attributes of the adjective, thus adding another dimension to the typeface. This dimension can take place on a purely aesthetic level or on the optical level in the context of optical sizes. Fundamental to this is to scrutinize the intention of the application of the respective typeface.
The respective project should result in an applied typeface with a variable axes, that has a contemporary character. The application depends on the project in question and its intention.
