Project description

„If we were made for one day“ is an exhibition and archive project by students of the Bauhaus-University that is supervised by Florian Schmidt (artistic associate / Bauhaus University Weimar) and Natalie Keppler (curator / DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program)

From material collections that were created during the course “Kunstwelt Klub – Archive of the Ephemerists” and the two workshops “Performing the Archive” and “Berlin Excursions – If the Berlin Wind Blows My Flag”, individual artistic contributions were developed.

In particular, the students examined more closely the collection of ephemera (ancient Greek ἐφήμερον ephēmeron " lasting for only a short time; transitory; short-lived"), material that has only a short lifespan or little attention. These things that are commonly considered as minor, marginal, secondary, insignificant, or irrelevant are becoming the center of the exhibition.
