Nora Giuliana Iannone, Masterstudentin der Architektur, und Massimo Scheidegger, Student im Bachelorstudiengang Produktdesign, sind für ihre freie Projektarbeit »Future Artifact – Charby« im Rahmen des internationalen Wettbewerbs »ein&zwanzig« als »Winner« ausgezeichnet worden. Mit dem Entwurf ihres CO2-bindenden Pflanzgefäßes aus Pflanzenkohle sind sie damit eine von insgesamt 21 Arbeiten, die auf der renommierten Designmesse »Salone del Mobile« vom 6. bis zum 12. Juni 2022 in Mailand ausstellen dürfen.
Im »Gründungswettbewerb – Digitale Innovationen« des Bundesministeriums für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz ist die Absolventin des Studiengangs »Produktdesign« gemeinsam mit ihren Partnerinnen Ulrike Böttcher (Co-Founderin & CEO) und Faustine Rolle (Bio-Chemikerin) für ihr Start-Up-Unternehmen »valupa« ausgezeichnet worden.
Die Thüringer Landesstipendien für Bildende Kunst 2022, dotiert mit jeweils 10.000 Euro, gehen dieses Jahr an die Künstlerin Samira Gebhardt (* 1995) und den Künstler Andreas Grahl (* 1981). Beide sind Alumni der Fakultät Kunst und Gestaltung und haben Freie Kunst bei Liz Bachhuber, Professorin im Ruhestand, und Björn Dahlem, Professor für »Objekt, Skulptur, Installation« studiert. Beide Diplomarbeiten wurden von Prof. Björn Dahlem betreut.
The Radio Art Residency Weimar is entering its second year. For the period from April to June 2022, the artist duo from Buenos Aires (Argentina), Florencia Curci and Agustin Genoud, will realise their project »Adapted to air: Collective vocallities for a future sonic forest« in Weimar.
Leo Stolte has been awarded with a recognition at the prestigious Mia Seeger Prize for his semester project »Vertical Games«. The future product designer was inspired by the omnipresent Plexiglas panes that are designed to protect against aerosols.
»MateriaLab« are experimental kits on the topic of waste and recycling for children, which Florian Henschel, a product design graduate from the Faculty of Art and Design at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, developed as part of his bachelor's thesis. The set offers young pupils the opportunity to carry out various recycling and waste processes themselves. The aim of the experiments is to give children a playful awareness of the value and characteristics of waste and to introduce them to responsible waste handling.
The documentary film project »Handmade in Bangladesh« by Prof. Liz Bachhuber, long-time professor of the Fine Art degree programme, and Florian Wehking, artistic associate of the Professorship of Urban Water Management at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, have been awarded the prize for the best feature-length documentary film in the category »No Planet B« at the film festival »Cinema e Ambiente Avezzano« in Avezzano (Italy) on 30 October 2021.
Die Studentin der Visuellen Kommunikation Carmen Draxler hat das 111.111. PROMOS-Stipendium erhalten und ist dafür am 4. Oktober 2021 vom DAAD in der Universitätsbibliothek geehrt worden. Sie erhielt aufgrund ausgezeichneter fachlicher Leistungen und ihrem hohen universitären und gesellschaftlichen Engagement ein E-Bike – als Symbol für Mobilität und Unterstützung.
