15.12. Update #6 Update on the regulations in December 2020 / January 2021

Dear students,

Today you received an email from the president informing you about the measures the university is deriving from the current regulation of the Free State of Thuringia and how they affect your presence and work at the university. In addition to this mail, we would like to inform you about the effects these decisions have on teaching and working at the Faculty of Art and Design.

Complete conversion to digital teaching from 16.12.2020 to 15.01.2021.
During this time, there will generally be no face-to-face teaching, this also affects all group work in face-to-face.

Student workrooms and studios
This regulation also affects work in the student workrooms. These will be closed for the time being until 15.01.21.We will offer students the opportunity to collect things and materials from their workspace on Wednesday 16/12 and Tuesday 17/12. Please make sure that no groups form in the rooms. Please also note that there will be no access to the rooms from 18.12. - 17.01.21.

Exceptions: Examinations and final theses
The faculty management will decide on any exceptions and individual cases where presence is absolutely necessary (e.g. final theses and examinations that cannot be postponed). Please contact the dean's office by email: dekanat[at]gestaltung.uni-weimar.de

Workshops
The workshops will again work according to the guidelines for the summer semester 2020 from 16.12.2020 to 15.01.2021. Unfortunately, this means that group introductory courses cannot take place. Students in the final phase of their theses will be supported by the workshops. For this, please contact the staff in the workshops directly.

Committee meetings
of the faculty take place digitally.

Home office for all employees where possible.
From 16 December 2020 until 10 January 2021, all employees of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will be required to work from home (mobile working) wherever possible.
This regulation also affects the faculty and may have an impact on the accessibility of administrative staff, especially if there are children to look after. We therefore ask everyone preferably to contact us by e-mail and sometimes to have a little patience.

Public traffic and accessibility of the buildings
As public and visitor traffic is prohibited, the university buildings will be locked for security reasons. Further information on this can be found in the mailing from the President.

Nevertheless, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you a happy holiday season and a good turn of the year. Stay healthy with your loved ones!
