Cream on Chrome is a Rotterdam-based experience design studio founded by Jonas Althaus (DE) and Martina Huynh (CH). Their work deals with socio-political questions and imaginaries, and seeks to engage people into pressing questions of our times. Through a particular focus on interaction, their multimedia installations manage to make new perspectives on economy, news media, or techno-ecologies feel light-hearted and intuitive to explore. Cream on Chrome often collaborates with cultural and academic institutions and conducts interdisciplinary research projects e.g. with Hogeschool van Amsterdam or Fontys Journalistiek. The studio regularly presents new work internationally, e.g. at the Nieuwe Instituut Rotterdam, Ornamenta, Taiwan Design Museum, Art Basel, Seoul Design Festival. In 2022, Cream on Chrome was honored with a Dutch Design Award in the ‘Young Designer’ category. Next to their entrepreneurial practice they lead a speculative design course for master students of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague. 

Martina holds a BA in Media and Communication from Design Academy Eindhoven (NL). Jonas graduated with a BfA in Product Design from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (DE) and with an MA in Social Design from Design Academy Eindhoven (NL).
