Kristin Jakubek received a »Best Of Earth Fulldome Award« in the category »Best Student Film« for her 360-degree film »A Toothless Grin« at the 15th FullDome Festival. For the first time, the award was jointly presented by an association of four international fulldome festivals. In addition to Jena, this included partner festivals from the USA, England and Australia. Out of over 100 entries, 19 films were nominated in six categories for the »Best Of Earth« awards.

For his Bachelor's thesis »MateriaLab«, Florian Henschel not only received the Social Design Award of the »German Design Graduates« (GDG) platform, funded with 1,000 euros in prize money by the Hans Sauer Stiftung, but also one of the »Supports«, participation in the »Cradle to Cradle NGO« networking evening. Two further "Supports" went to Master's alumni of the Faculty of Art and Design: Elias Fahle convinced with his customisable orthosis »Parachno«", Maximilian Schatz with his material experiment »Faser.Faden.Filament.«.

Vom 8. bis 10. Oktober 2021 sind unter der 360-Grad-Kuppel des Planetariums zahlreiche Fulldome-Produktionen zu sehen. Erstmals wird eine »Best-Of-Earth«-Auswahl nicht nur in Jena, sondern parallel auf vier weiteren Festivals international präsentiert. Unter den gezeigten Arbeiten sind auch drei studentische Produktionen aus der Fakultät Kunst und Gestaltung.

Der mit 6.000 Euro und einer eigenen Katalogpublikation dotierte Förderpreis soll an förderungswürdige junge Künstlerinnen und Künstler verliehen werden, die einen europäischen Blick und Bezug, aber auch einen Bogen von europäischen Metropolen und ländlichen Räumen aufweisen. Philipp Valenta studierte von 2007 bis 2012 an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar bei Prof. Norbert Hinterberger sowie Prof. Elfi Fröhlich. Er lebt und arbeitet in Duisburg.

It' s time: As part of the typography course »Type & Feminisms« from the winter semester 2020/21, the publication of the same name was created under the supervision of Jun.-Prof. Stefanie Schwarz, which is now celebrating its release.

The jury, including representatives of the Goethe-Institut, Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Deutschlandfunk Kultur, Galerie Eigenheim Weimar/Berlin and the previous artist-in-residence, chose the Italian artist Marialuisa Capurso with her project »Rubedo«. The artist will work in Weimar from 15 September to 15 December 2021.

Die studentische Initiative »horizonte« hat in der Kategorie »Analoge und digitale Medien der Vermittlung« des diesjährigen Thüringer Staatspreises für Baukultur eine Medaille erhalten. Mit der »Medaille für Baukultur« in der Kategorie Medien der Vermittlung möchte die Jury das hohe ehrenamtliche Engagement der Studierenden und ihre Offenheit für neue Denkweisen würdigen.
