Im Rahmen des Leipziger Hörspielsommers präsentieren Studierende der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar und der Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen ihre im letzten Jahr entwickelten Hörstücke: Im fünften Hörspielmanuskriptwettbewerb werden die besten Produktionen unter diesen Stücken am Sonntag, 9. Das Symposium »Heterotopie Ilmpark. Raum für Neue Umweltästhetik« findet anlässlich des Jubiläums 100 Jahre Bauhaus-Ausstellung vom 10. bis 12.Juli 2023 in Weimar statt. From 5 to 7 July 2023, experts from the fields of computer science, media practice and theory as well as artists will come together in Weimar to exchange ideas at the intersections of digital art and culture and to search for interdisciplinary synergies. The »Interface Design« department of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar supports the international conference in terms of organisation and content.

From 6 to 16 July, sibings Hala and Ghida Masri will showcase their installation and dance performance at Jorge-Semprún-Platz, the former so-called »Gauforum«. With her final project, Hala Masri – architect and student of the international Master’s degree programme »Public Art and New Artistic Strategies« at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar – wants to make a statement, together with her deaf sister, against normative and discriminatory structures and provoke a dialogue about how such structures influence our lives and daily behaviours.

Am Montag, 3. Juli 2023, 18.30 Uhr, dürfen wir die Illustratorin Sheree Domingo an der Fakultät Kunst und Gestaltung im Rahmen der Vortragsreihe Salon Visuelle Kulturen begrüßen. Unter dem Titel »Von Müttern und Monstern« wird sie einen Einblick in ihre Arbeit geben. Interessierte sind herzlich willkommen!

A total of seven prizes were awarded to student work from the Faculty of Art and Design at this year's Art Directors Club (ADC) Young Talent Competition: two of the prestigious gold and bronze nails each and three awards went to Bauhaus students. Simon Geistlinger was particularly successful with his final project »Uns wird schon was einfallen« (We'll come up with something). He scored in three categories and took home two of the golden nails.
