A century has passed since the State Bauhaus presented its work to the public for the first time in a major exhibition. The »Bauhaus-Ausstellung« (Bauhaus Exhibition), whose reputation reached far beyond Weimar, was held from 15 August to 30 September 1923 and was a magnet for countless artists, intellectuals and art aficionados of the time. The exhibition solidified the international reputation of the art school.
The research project »Digitale Orthetik« (Digital Orthotics) can be seen at the joint stand of Thuringia at the Hannover Messe from 17 to 24 April and will represent the design research of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar there.
The newly founded »iRRE SPACE«, an exhibition space of the Fine Art Department, presents the exhibition and performance series "Material Girls". Interested parties are cordially invited to the opening on Tuesday, 18 April 2023, 7.30 p.m., and the other events.

Textilerbe repaired« finden an vier Abenden im April und Mai 2023 Lectures rund um die Themen Netzwerkarbeit, zeitgenössische künstlerische Position, künstlerische Forschung, textiles Erbe und Nachhaltigkeit im Textilen statt. Mirko Muhshoff und Jano Kaltenbach experimentierten lange vor ihrem Studium der Medienkunst/Mediengestaltung im Medienbereich und entdeckten darin ihre Leidenschaft für »Irgendwas mit Medien«. Dies führte unweigerlich nach Weimar an die Bauhaus-Universität. Insbesondere das hier etablierte Projektstudium und das freie Arbeiten haben überzeugt. Es verbindet die begeisterten Filmemacher, Drehbuchautoren, Schauspieler und Regisseure jedoch viel mehr mit Weimar.
With their joint bachelor's thesis on a biocement that can be produced without emissions, Julia Huhnholz and Friedrich Gerlach convinced the jury of the international competition for young designers »one&twenty« (formerly »ein&zwanzig«). As one of 21 award-winning works, the design duo prevailed against 545 entries from 134 universities in 53 countries. Also nominated for the shortlist were Esther Betz and Mara Kossira for their innovative clothes horse »MAÏMA.«.
On Saturday, 1 April 2023, the first episode of the exhibition »POWER HOUSE« opened under the title »where do we grow from here«. Alongside representatives of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar and the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, numerous visitors from the city, the arts, culture and business, as well as students and alumni, were on hand to view the exhibition, which will grow, expand and shrink again in the future.
Zwischen Uni-Alltag, Generation Selbstverwirklichung und der ganz großen Kunst: »Irgendwas mit Medien« heißt eine achtteilige Serie, welche die UFA Serial Drama im Auftrag des MDR und in Zusammenarbeit mit ARD Kultur produziert hat. Am 14. April 2023 geht das Streamingformat in der ARD-Mediathek online. Am Abend zuvor, am Donnerstag, 13. April 2023, feiert die Serie um 19 Uhr ihre Premiere im Audimax der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
