Vom 25. bis 26. Oktober 2024 lädt die Professur »Geschichte und Theorie der Visuellen Kommunikation« zur Tagung »Working Matter – Aktivitätsmodelle und Geschichte der Arbeit« ein. Ab sofort und bis zum 26. Mai 2024 können Beiträge vorgeschlagen werden, die im Verhältnis von Aktivitätsdiskursen und Arbeitsgeschichte nach wechselseitigen Anschluss- oder Absetzbewegungen suchen. Der Call richtet sich an Nachwuchswissenschaftler*innen und etablierte Forscher*innen.
Die Studierenden der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar laden am Mittwoch, 1. Mai 2024, zum legendären Seifenkistenrennen »SpaceKidHeadCup« ein. Tollkühne Pilot*innen können auch in diesem Jahr um die Trophäen in den Disziplinen »Style« und »Speed« ringen, wenn sie ihre Gefährte die Windmühlenstraße hinunter lenken.

Markus Weisbeck, Professor of Graphic Design in the Visual Communication degree programme, has designed the visual identity of the Canadian Pavilion at the Biennale di Venezia. The graphic concept visualises parts of a work by the artist Kapwani Kiwanga.

From 24 April to 11 June 2024, students and external artists are exhibiting works that explore the possibilities of a new beginning under the title »zero is the moon«. From 6 to 13 April 2024, an interdisciplinary team of current students and graduates from the fields of architecture, Fine Art and media will present various interdisciplinary works on the question of an architecture of the personal space of the participants. During the exhibition period, there will be a programme of performances and an artist talk.
Bauhaus students Esther Betz, Elisa Bessega and Sylvia Chen have been honoured for their »Mantis« cargo scooter in the »one&twenty« design competition. With this international competition, the German Design Council annually honours outstanding design students and graduates in the fields of product design and lifestyle.
Visual Communication students Johanna Mehner and Ossian Osborne won one of the prestigious awards in the renowned competition for the 100 best posters from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. A total of 2,333 posters from 667 entrants competed for one of the coveted places.
Vom 21. bis 24. März 2024 präsentiert sich die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar unter dem Motto »Even more reading. Even more writing« auf der Leipziger Buchmesse. Mit dabei ist das Projekt »Interactive Cubes«, eine mediale Plattform für interaktive Videospiel- und Lernanwendungen. Im Zentrum stehen mehrere Würfel, die von den Messegästen selbst getestet werden können und welche spielerisch digitale und analoge Buchstabenwelten verbinden.
