Project description
The urban ensemble of the Wunderblutkirche with the Schwibbogen, the ruins of the prelate house and the buildings of the old manor complex is for Brandenburg an unique testimony of medieval and baroque ideologies. The long history of use has constantly changed the place and is evidence of an extensive history to this day. This ensemble has to be protected and will be sensibly supplemented by the construction of a new cultural center on the cellar ruins of the former prelate house.
Building on the feasibility study already initiated by the parish and based on the needs of residents and church members, the concept pursues the construction of a new culturcentre with an concert hall and exhibition areas in the basement and ground floor. The central location to the train station and the village square favors the development of the location as a cultural community center. The entire ensemble becomes a new meeting point for the town and church community.
