Projektbeschreibung

The Platform City represents the urban landscape of our time. What is life like in this city? Imagine finishing work and enjoying leisure time in public spaces. With your smartphone in hand, you continue to contribute valuable data to the apps and platforms you use every day, effectively working for free. Platforms like Uber and Airbnb, among many others, are transforming our modern city into infrastructure devices for their operations. Since these platforms are not publicly owned, the public spaces we utilize are increasingly commercialized. This ongoing master thesis in architecture investigates the infrastructures created by digital platforms. In contrast to the prevailing technological era, the artistic practice revolves around the traditional medium of oil painting. Through this medium, we delve into our deeply fetishized relationship with labor and digital data.
