Projektbeschreibung

The existing social and spatial inequalities have influenced and shaped the form of our territories and communities throughout history. As a broad description, spatial inequality can be defined as the mere lack and/or absence of services and unequal distributions of resources in a territory. We aim to discuss both sides of spatial planning picturing how urbanism can play a negative role on spatial distributions, but also how it can have positive outcomes when addressing these relevant issues. Among many sub-topics related towards spatial inequalities, matters such as: gender inequalities, social and economic disparities, spatial fragmentations, hidden communities, the role of architecture as a spatial equalizer, and some case studies will be portrayed in this space.
