Agnes Kohlmeyer, Venezia (I)
The lecture connects to the subject of recycling in art – after a short introduction into the contemporary practice of exhibiting and curating – with several examples of leaving the white cube and moving into other spaces, spaces which originally were far away from visual arts, but which today and more than ever are able to inspire artists and curators to explore them and their former histories and to comunicate with them through new artworks. Agnes Kohlmeyer’s past curating experiences include the Biennale “D’Apertutto” 1999 in the Venice Arsenale, activities as the director of Kunstverein Ludwigsburg, “Chairs in Contemporary Art” in the Castle of Udine, “Fuori Uso” in a former market hall in Pescara and the FinalLaboratory for Art at the Faculty Design and Arts (fDA) in Venice.
