Future Vintage Lecture series: T'AI SMITH »The Bauhaus Weaving Workshop«
Herzliche Einladung zum Sommervortrag der FUTURE VINTAGE lecture series – Fachgespräche und Workshops für das textile Experiment.
The weaving workshop was one of the most successful workshops at the Bauhaus. It was primarily attended by women. Here, they experimented with both traditional and industrialized weaving techniques. We're extremely happy to announce that T'ai Smith – senior fellow of the Internationales Kolleg für Kulturtechnikforschung und Medienphilosophie (IKKM) – will give a lecture about the history of The Bauhaus Weaving Workshop and how the work of weavers like Anni Albers and Gunta Stölzl evolved along with political and aesthetic changes at the school.
The lecture will be held in English and is a result of this year's collaboration between IKKM and the student initiative Textilwerkstatt.
Time: Friday, June 20, 7 pm
Place: IKKM, Salon of former Palais Dürckheim, Cranachstr. 47, 99423 Weimar
