  • July 2018: Dust Blooms Excerpts. Installation at »Stories for a more-than-human world« Kesselhaus Berlin, curated by Theresa Schubert.
  • September 2017: Dust Blooms. Installation at Cyberarts Exhibition, OK Center for Contemporary Art, Prix Ars Electronica, Linz.
  • June 2016 – October 2016: Dust Blooms. Artistic ecology research and exhibition project on the dust filtration capacity of urban roadside plants for the exhibition, Lasst die Blumen Sprechen, at Museum Schloß Moyland, in collaboration with Dr. Ina Säumel and Ulrich Szewzyk at the TU-Berlin.
  • September 2015: Feather and Corn. Illustrated map and objects on Important Bird Areas and soil use at the exhibition, »Natural Affairs« at Quadrat Dornbirn, Austria, in collaboration with Myriel Milicevic.
  • June 2014: Dirt Dialogues – An Integrated Art Exhibition and Film Program at the 20th World Congress of Soil Science, Jeju, Korea, with Gerd Wessolek and the International Union of Soil Sciences.
  • March 2014: Mapping the Urban Grind Mill. Research installation on Soil Sealing in Berlin for the exhibition »Macro-biologies I« at the Art Laboratory Berlin.
  • November 2012: Grounded – A Festival of Films for the First Global Soil Week. Curation of film festival about soil protection issues at Kino Arsenal in collaboration with the IASS Potsdam and European Commission JRC, Berlin.
  • July 2012: Edible Geographies – Mapping the Foodscape. Collaborative map and workshop with Nicola Twilley for the Guggenheim Labs Summer Program 2012 in Pfefferberg, Berlin.
  • September 2010: Wishgarden – Flooded Harvest. Participatory research workshop and public performance, in collaboration with Ana Malalan for MOTA Museum of Transitory Art, Ljubljana.
  • September 2010: Spatial analysis of WWII rubble deposition in Berlin, under consideration of sulfate leaching, recreational quality and collective memory. Research installation at the Pro Helvetia Swiss Arts Council’s Science Meets Art Workshop in the Altes Museum Neukölln, Berlin.
  • August 2010: Wunschgarten – Wild Urban Offshoots. Creative workshop, walking tour and research installation in collaboration with Myriel Milicevic as part of the Artists in Dialog Series at the Art Laboratory, Berlin.
  • August 2009: Personal Distribution Mechanisms. Walking tour focusing on distribution mechanisms of plants and people along the River Panke and interactive map of Berlin Waterways at the Art Laboratory, Berlin.
  • March 2008 through 2009: Digital Botany. Photographic contract work for the Software Company Lenné3D GmbH. Projects included identifying and photographing 300 wild plant and tree species growing in the Berlin/Brandenburg area for an E-Learning tool for the TU-Berlin and a 3D tree visualization and digital simulation project.
  • June – November 2006 – 2008: Gallery of Weeds (Galerie der Wildkräuter), Nature trail and movable signage about the spontaneous vegetation growing on the former inner-city train depot Gleisdreieck, with support from the Stiftung Naturschutz Berlin, the grassroots citizen group Bürgerinitiativ Gleisdreieck, and the TU-Berlin.
  • Maitres des Lieux, May 2004: Exhibition of Slogan Gardens »a living letter to the city« at the Maitres des Lieux Symposium for Contemporary Arts in St. Lo, France.
  • Fertile Ground, September 2002: botanical sculptures and photographs in the Botanical Garden Göttingen, Germany.





Residencies, Grants and Awards

  • 2018: Presidential Medal in recognition of relevant services provided to the achievement of World Soil Science (Awarded in honor of Dr. Alvaro Barcellos Fagundes at the 21st World Congress of Soil Science in Rio de Janeiro) 
  • 2017: Prix Ars Electronica Honorary Mention in the Hybrid Art category for Dust Blooms
  • July 2015 – July 2016: Post-doctoral scholarship, Department of Crop and Soil Science, Oregon State University
  • July 2013 – December 2013: Andrea von Braun Stiftung. six-month interdisciplinary research grant.
  • September 2009 – March 2013: German Research Foundation (DFG) PhD Graduate Research Fellowship. 780/3 Perspectives on Urban Ecology III - Optimizing urban nature development.
  • September 2010: MOTA Museum of Transitory Art Residency. Ljubljana, Slovenia.
  • September 2006 – December 2009: Wriezener Bahnhof Freiraumlabor (Wriezener Park Open Space Lab). Federal grant (ExWoSt) to develop a prototype for a solar-generated, wifi seating area, website, and photo documentation as part of a community park project in Berlin-Fiedrichshain; in cooperation with Ulf Kypke-Burchardi, freifunk.net and tx architects, Berlin, Germany.
  • February - March 2008: TARP - Taliesin Artist Residency Program. Artist Residency scholarship at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture - Taliesin West, Scottsdale, Arizona, USA.
  • November 2005: Break Festival New Species. Residency and exhibition of botanical sculptures at the Break Symposium of Contemporary Arts, Ljubljana, Slovenia.
