Sonic Tuesday: Radio in War, Radio in Peace

28th of April 2026, 7pm - Nathalie Singer will present a selection of works from the radio festival TACTUS in San Marino, centered on the theme “Radio in War, Radio in Peace.” Come along & stay tuned for this semesters Sonic Tuesdays!

On our Sonic TuesdayApril 28, 2026 at 7 PM, Nathalie Singer – co-curator of the TACTUS Festival 2026 – will present a selection of works from the festival in San Marino, centered on the theme “Radio in War, Radio in Peace.”Together, we will dive into excerpts from documentary material, podcasts, and radio compositions, exploring what radio can be: a tool of control, a space of resistance – and perhaps something in between. We will also open up a discussion on how media can function in current and future crises – as a social, artistic, and political space.

At the heart of the program are excerpts from the deeply personal podcast Carnet d’Ukraine by war journalist Maurine Mercier. She will join us live from Geneva Airport to answer your questions.

We will also listen to excerpts from The Enemy Is Always Listening, a documentary lecture by Andrea Borgnino (RAI), which reflects on the use of radio in current crisis regions such as Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and Ukraine, as well as on pirate radio and emergency broadcasting.

The program is complemented by radio compositions engaging with the realities of war, including works by Kunstradio and Roberto Paci Dalò.
