LISTENING TO HIGHLANDS: Three Perspectives on the Mountain Landscape
Even though all three works unfold at roughly the same altitude they open up radically different ways of listening to a mountain. We move from the Causse Méjean via a composer’s intuitive recollection of memory, to the highlands of Naxos through a curated constellation of unprocessed field recordings, and finally to the Swiss Jura, listening through hydrophones, ultrasound detector and other tools to the hidden sounds of the environment.
