Dr. Sven Schneider

Lecturer & Researcher

Sven is a lecturer and researcher specializing in architectural planning support systems. From 2016 to 2024, he led the Chair of Computer Science in Architecture at Bauhaus University Weimar. He studied Applied Computer Science at TU Chemnitz, followed by studies in Architecture at TU Dresden and Bauhaus University Weimar. In 2016, he earned his PhD with a dissertation on automated spatial layout design from a user-centric perspective.

Sven's primary research interests focus on developing evaluation measures for the built environment and exploring generative methods to support the design process. He has been actively involved in and has coordinated several state-funded research projects. His work has led to numerous publications on generative methods for spatial layout design and analysis, addressing both architectural and urban scales.
