Photography: Vertrauen – Das kooperative Portrait, 2023
Type: Semester Project Degree Programme: Visual Communication Professorship: Photography Advisor: Prof. Dr. Birgit Wudtke

How does cooperative, collaborative photographic work function? In the winter semester 22/23, students of the Visual Communication degree programme at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar engaged in the photography project “TRUST – The Cooperative Portrait”, exploring possibilities of cooperation in photography. The aim of the course was to develop exercises that divide the copyright of a portrait photo between the two parties involved. The students selected their cooperation partners and worked in small groups or pairs. Various methods of collaborative image processing were discovered and experimented with, with a particular emphasis on the medium of collage. An important aspect was the equal and supportive interaction with the cooperation partners.

Selected results were presented on postcards at the Kultursymposium Weimar. This format allowed visitors to take snippets of the exhibition and rearrange them in their own homes.
