The Quiet Land

Fakultät: Gestaltung, Studiengang: Kunst im öffentlichen Raum und neue künstlerische Strategien (M.F.A.)

The quietness of wordless mind, the silence of action and the calmness of places are telling stories to us about the foreign city -- Sarajevo. The Quiet Land is an art exhibition showing two artists' works in Vitrine Gallery during the Summaery in Weimar. ISAAC CHONG WAI and SANTI CONTRETAS SOUX are two of the artists in the program "BAUHAUS GOES SOUTH EASTERN EUROPE - SARAJEVO 2014/1914" organized by MFA Public Art and New Artistic Strategies and funded by DAAD. "The Quiet Land," where we find how "the sounds of quietness" differing from the past -- the violence, the disregard and the pain. Asserting an interpretation of what artist think of the city concerning to specific places in which the context of the memory and artist's personal experience is addressed, we notice the remediation and the reconciliation are flowing in the noiseless land where we listen to the quietness of the artists' mind.
