BAUHAUS INTERNATIONALS

You see, there are many names from all over the world. Just imagine what a variety of people you find behind these names. Many people from different countries come to the Bauhaus University to spend half a year, one year or even their whole studies at this beautiful historical spot. Bauhaus Internationals want to get those people together and especially together with the german students. We are a mixed group of local and international students, who enjoy meeting new people and making them feel home and comfortable in another country, in another town. We always like to welcome new members to our group with fresh ideas and joy to make a change.

Only through enthusiasm and voluntary commitment all this is possible.

There are several international student institutions and groups around Weimar and Thüringen who we cooperate with:

INTERNATIONAL SCOUTS

Die International Scouts organisieren gemeinsam mit den Bauhaus Internationals die wöchentlich an Donnerstagen um 20.00 Uhr stattfindenden Culture Talks im 1.OG der M18 (Marienstraße 18). Sie werden zusätzlich vom Studentenwerk Thüringen unterstützt. Bei den Culture Talks stellt ein internationaler Studierender sein Land vor und zeigt beispielsweise Bilder, spielt landestypische Musik und bereitet traditionelle Häppchen vor. Take part!

HOUSING TUTORS - Wohnheim-Tutoren

The Housing-Tutors are in charge of welcoming and supporting all international students who live in the student dormitories of "Studentenwerk". They help you during your arrival and assist you to fill in the necessary documents at the city council or national offices. They can as well give you an introduction for the dormitory itself, the Studentenwerk in general, the university and the city with all its institutions, arrangements and benefits. Your social integration is fundamental for a satisfying stay in Weimar. Your housing tutors can inform you about ongoing activities and parties! Once in a while they arrange trips or special events to boost up the social contacts between all the different students living together in their dormitory. So don’t be shy if you have any problems or questions - just ask them. They look forward to meeting you!

PPI THÜRINGEN - Verband indonesischer Studierender Thüringen

In Indonesien leben 250 Mio. Menschen auf rund 17.000 Inseln. Mit einem Anteil von 95% Muslimen ist es das größte und friedlichste muslimische Land der Welt. Indonesien vereint in sich hunderte Kulturen und Sprachen. Es erscheint wie eine eigene kleine Welt in der Welt.
Die PPI (Perhimpunan Pelajar Indonesia) hat Vertretungen auf der ganzen Welt, eine davon ist hier in Thüringen. Die Mitglieder kümmern sich um die Belange der indonesischen Studierenden. Hierzu gehören die Beratung und Unterstützung indonesischer Studierender und Studieninteressenten in Weimar, Jena, Erfurt und in ganz Thüringen. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt ihrer Arbeit liegt auf der Repräsentation und Interaktion Indonesiens auf studentischer Ebene. Ein weiteres Anliegen der Gruppe ist es, alle zu unterstützen, die sich für Indonesien interessieren.

VERBAND DER KOREANISCHEN STUDIERENDEN WEIMAR

Im Wintersemester 2010/2011 wurde der Verband der koreanischen Studierenden ins Leben gerufen. Zur Zeit gibt es etwa 30 aktive Mitglieder, die für alle koreanischen Studierenden an der Bauhaus-Universität und alle die sich hier bewerben als Ansprechpartner zur Verfügung stehen möchten.
Zwei Mal pro Semester trifft sich die Gruppe in netter Runde zum Erfahrungs- und Informationsaustausch. Mit der Organisation von kulturellen Veranstaltungen, wie z.B. des Culture Talks „Korea“ im Winter, möchte sich die Gruppe am internationalen Leben in Weimar beteiligen.
