Although
all of Weimars transportation routes pass through
it, the Goethe Square is quieter today than it was
before its renovation in 1999. In front of the post
office extends a large area up until the city
wall. Thanks to the skilled use of cobblestones, the
adjacent street is hardly noticeable.
The
»Kasseturm« is without a doubt one of
the oldest buildings forming an essential part of
Weimars townscape. Once a component of the city
wall, which extends along this area, the Kasseturm
serves today as a student club. The adjacent Mon
Ami building is a cultural center housing the
community movie theater.
