In
the heart of the city (and behind the mounted Grand Duke Carl
August), one‘s gaze falls upon the Residential Palace (with
tower), housing at present
Weimar‘s art collections and the Weimar
Classics Foundation.
In
the buildings immediately adjacent to the Square, the Duchess
Anna Amalia Library will be comprehensively expanded.
The stacks will be located underneath the Square, which means
that this panorama will soon look like an excavation site.
On
the southern side of the Square stands the Prince‘s House,
currently the Main Building of the FRANZ
LISZT Conservatory of Music.
