Project description

PROJECT CONTEXT
Our project ec(h)o was created within the context of the above-named semester project in the Park at the Ilm, Weimar, and aims at the awareness of climate change. At the same time, the student's projects should strengthen the human multisensory perception of natural phenomena, similarly to what ec(h)o actually does today.

WHAT IS EC(H)O?
discover a new way to communicate with nature.
how to reconnect with nature? how to rethink the connection between human being and mother nature?
it goes without saying that this special relationship has to be reconsidered.
we are convinced that an environmentally responsible behaviour can only result from a deep emotional bond between human and nature.
to (re)build this kind of relationship we developed ec(h)o -
a communication system that reflects the human voice translated in natural sounds.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
imagine you could talk with the nature.

how would it be to talk with mother nature? how would her answer sound?
with ec(h)o you can discover the nature echo of your own voice.
do you sound like a bird or rustling leaves or do your voice sound like rain drops?
after recording your voice we analyse it and translate it into the most similar nature sound which we will playback as your nature ec(h)o.
these nature sounds originate from the popular Park at the Ilm in Weimar.
