Sven Meyer zu Eissen
CV
After studying computer science at the University of Paderborn, I worked at the same place in the Knowledge Based Systems Group. My PhD thesis is about algorithms and statistics for categorizing search in the area of information retrieval. Currently I work as a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Stein's working group at the Bauhaus University Weimar.
Research activities
My research interests lie in the area of machine learning, data mining, and Web technology, with a focus on information retrieval. Some recent projects in which I participate can be found here - they include the following IR topics.

2008 Winner of the Spock Challenge. The project and our team is described here.
2006 Award of Appreciation (best paper on text mining track) at the conference of Germany's classification society (GfKl) 2006.
2004 European Academic Software Award for AIsearch, a categorizing search engine.
