summaery2026 – The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Annual Exhibition

For the annual exhibition summaery2026 from 9 to 12 July, students and faculty of the university will present their work, ideas, and discourses on campus as well as inside and outside the city. The motto »prompt‽« conceptually developed by the leading Faculty of Media, forms the thematic framework.

summaery2026 an der Fakultät Kunst und Gestaltung: Prompten ohne Eingabefeld

Was ist ein Prompt, wenn kein Eingabefeld zu sehen ist? Zur »summaery2026« zeigen Studierende der Fakultät Kunst und Gestaltung, wie Porzellan auf Formen reagiert und digitale Räume auf Hände, Körper und Bewegung antworten. Zu Besuch waren wir in zwei Kursen, die unterschiedlicher nicht sein könnten: »Grundlagen keramischer Gestaltung« und »Immersive Spaces: Art Installations with TouchDesigner«.

Double Success: Weimar Students Receive Emerging Artist Funding for Socially Critical Photography Projects

Two photography projects from the Faculty of Art and Design at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (by Mai Do and Teresa Fischer) are among the eight works selected for the new »Expanded Horizons« international funding programme. The »Körber-Stiftung« and the »Haus der Photographie der Deichtorhallen Hamburg« are awarding 1,000 euros in prize money and production funding to each project for further development. Starting in November 2026, the »PHOXXI – Haus der Photographie« in Hamburg will be showcasing the projects in an exhibition.

Students from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar succeeded at the ADC Talent Award 2026

Three students from the Faculty of Art and Design won the coveted ADC Nails at the ADC Talent Award 2026: Nina Buschendorf received a Silver Nail for her »Sexismus gibt es erst seit 23 Stunden« project, Xiaoyi Jin was also awarded a Silver Nail for her »TRIADISCHER GIN« project, and Mai Do was awarded a Bronze Nail for her »VOXAIPE – Decoded« project. Eight additional works received a total of nine awards.

Lecture by Kathrin Meyer about »Situated Relations: Eco-Sensible Curating from a Human-Among-Others Perspective«

On Monday, 15 June 2026, Kathrin Meyer, Director of Museum Sinclair-Haus in Bad Homburg, will be a guest at the Faculty of Art and Design. Museum Sinclair-Haus focuses on art and nature. Meyer previously worked at the German Hygiene Museum in Dresden, where she established a reputation for contemporary exhibition formats. Her lecture on her curatorial practice begins at 17 Uhr in the Van-de-Velde-Building. Afterwards, there will be time for a Q&A.

Poetryfilmtage 2026: Poetry Slam trifft Poetry Film

Von Donnerstag, 4. Juni, bis Samstag, 6. Juni 2026 laden die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar und die Literarische Gesellschaft Thüringen e. V. zu den Internationalen Thüringer Poetryfilmtagen ein. Das Festival für Poesiefilm und Videopoetry stellt in diesem Jahr die Beziehung zwischen »Poetry Slam« und »Poetry Film« ins Zentrum.

So sieht der »Spuk im Hochhaus« auf der Landesgartenschau aus

Noch den ganzen Sommer über können die Besucher*innen der Landesgartenschau in Leinefelde-Worbis im sogenannten »Blumenblock« Kunst aus der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar sehen. Im dritten Obergeschoss des leergezogenen Plattenbaus untersuchen zehn Studierende der Freien Kunst die Spuren ehemaliger Bewohner*innen und fragen nach Formen des Wohnens, Erinnerns und Zusammenlebens. Hier können Sie durch die Linse des Visuelle-Kommunikation-Studenten Richard Schött einen Blick in die Ausstellung werfen.
