Theaterplatz

The Theaterplatz is the cultural heart of Weimar where one can visit the German National Theatre, the Goethe-Schiller monument, the Bauhaus Museum and the Wittumspalais.

The neo-classical facade of the German National Theatre was built shortly after 1900 and still dominates the character of the square with its famous Goethe-Schiller monument.

The Bauhaus Museum is located at the other end of the Theaterplatz. It contains objects and artistic works by those who came before and after the Bauhaus movement, as well as the artists and designers who made the Bauhaus world famous.
