Goetheplatz

Although practically every bus line crosses here, Goetheplatz seems much quieter since it was redesigned in 1999. Where there was once a busy intersection, people can now stroll over a spacious pedestrian area that stretches from the post office to the former city wall along Am Graben. 

The Kasseturm is undoubtedly one of the oldest landmarks in Weimar today. Formerly part of the city ramparts, it is now used as a student club. The art cinema and cultural centre “mon ami” is located adjacent to the Kasseturm.
