German Language Courses

Welcome to the Language Centre of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar!

We offer a large variety of courses which will allow you to improve your knowledge of German. Our target groups are

1. International student applicants

Intensive German courses for international student applicants are geared towards international students who are planning a full-time course of study at a German university but still need to improve their proficiency of German. These courses are being offered on three different levels and last between 15 and 17 weeks. They prepare for the Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerber (DSH), the German language university entrance exam for international student applicants.

Each September, there is also a three-week DSH-Intensive Course to prepare international students who already have a very good command of German for the DSH.

2. International ERASMUS-/exchange students and full-time students

Three-week intensive courses in March and September prepare international exchange students for their stay in Weimar but can also be attended by full-time students.

International students can also continue to improve their proficiency in German in German courses during the semester.

3. International students from all over the world

In August you can also learn German in an international summer course which is part of the programme of the Bauhaus Summer School. The Bauhaus Summer School 2012 will take place from 6 - 31 August, 2012.
